070309_neworder Peter Hook, Andy Rourke and Mani have revealed that their new band Freebass, will be fronted by a revolving trio of singers.  Liam Gallagher, Ian Brown and Ian McCulloch have all agreed to lend their vocal talents to the group’s first brace of recordings. With representatives from New Order, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Oasis and Echo And The Bunnyman now all on board, Freebass is looking like the first, bona fide None More Manchester collaboration.

Former Hollywood bad boy Matt Dillon, is in final talks to play Chess Records' co-founder Leonard Chess in new biopic, Cadillac Records. The legendary Chicago label, once home to the likes of Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Howlin’ Wolf, Chuck Berry and Etta James, was founded by Leonard and his brother Phil in 1950. Darnell Martin is currently penning the script and will take on directing duties when the film begins shooting next year.
